You are on a
community parenting board that has determined to take on a community service
project to test different children’s toys. You will be testing how safe and how
intellectually stimulating the toys are. Your committee has decided to form
subcommittees to complete the research.
As a member
of one of the subcommittees your job is to determine the safety and
intellectuality of toys for your given age group, create a poster illustrating
child safe and intellectually stimulating toys for your age group, and report
the findings to others on the parenting board.

You will
research child appropriate toys for the age group subcommittee you have been
assigned to.
You will
create a poster with the child appropriate toys for the age group you are
researching.
You will present
your findings and your toy to the community parenting board (your class).

You will
sign up for each age group subcommittee. There will be no more than 6 people
per committee. (A sign up sheet will be passed around the class).
Individually
go to the toy websites (links provided below) and find toys that are
appropriate for your age group.

websites to find you toys!
Choose three
of the best examples of child appropriate toys for your age group considering
safety and intellectual appropriateness.
Re-group
with other members in your child age group and discuss your findings. Explain
to others why your toys are safe and intellectually stimulating for your age
group.
As a group
you will pick 10 of the toys that best represent the criteria evaluated and
create a poster that has visual appeal.
On the
poster please include the age group, pictures of toys, and reasons why these
toys are safe and intellectually stimulating for your age group.
As a group
you will present your poster to the parenting board (class). As a team you
should be able to share with the parenting board why your toys are safe and
intellectually stimulating for your age group.
