Don’t Get Caught in
the Storm of Peer Pressure
A 9th and 10th
Grade Web Quest
Designed by Ms. Nicole Barnett

![]()
Fred is at a big end of the
year party. Upon Fred’s arrival, he
notices alcohol, kids who are smoking, and even some kids who are doing
drugs.
Fred does not want to drink or do drugs, because he is star of his
high school football team and he knows if he gets caught doing these acts he will
be off the team. He also does not want to disappoint his parents who trusted
him to steer clear of drugs and alcohol.
As Fred goes around talking with the different groups, he becomes more
and more nervous. Give Fred an umbrella
by helping him use different strategies to say no, and make it through the
night without giving into peer pressure.

Fred thanks all of you
for your help and determination to resist peer pressure. I hope that you have found different
strategies in coping with peer pressure.
Just saying no may
be too cliché, and using an umbrella
of different strategies can help you avoid peer pressure and can help
you feel better about yourself.
Remember that it
takes strength, and self confidence to stand up for what you believe. You can do it!
