Teen Suicide

Introduction

Nancy just left the Hyland Hills cemetery where her best friend was just laid to rest.  Nancy’s friend, Marcy, was just 15 years old.  Nancy is still wondering why her friend Marcy took her own life.  She seemed happy most of the time and never told Nancy that she was unhappy in any way.  Nancy also wonders if there was anything that she could of done for her friend so that she would still be here today.  So many questions go unanswered when something so tragic like teen suicide occurs.  It is important for friends and family members to know what possible warning signs may be, where teens can get help for their problems, and how to help someone who is asking for help.  What would you do if you were in Nancy’s situation?  Would you want to know all the information on teen suicide that you could so that this wouldn’t happen to one of your friends?  This webquest is designed for you as students to find adequate information about teen suicide that would be helpful in a situation like Nancy’s.
